Shakir K is the Managing Partner of Pace Foundations and an alumnus of the erstwhile Regional Engineering College, Calicut (now National Institute of Technology Calicut), where he pursued mechanical engineering studies from 1981 to 1985. His professional journey began in 1987 with a focus on construction, particularly in pile foundation activities, alongside fellow NIT Calicut alumnus Mr. Jacob Thomas. Together, in 1990, they established PACE (Piling and Construction Engineering). In years to come, they both pursued their individual careers in the construction sector across India, while Shakir K remained the Chief Executive Officer of the company throughout the period, which later evolved into Pace Foundations in 2005. With over 34 years of unwavering commitment to delivering premium-quality services in the construction sector, Mr. Shakir’s daughter, Ms. Taenaz Shakir, has joined the company as a partner, further enriching its legacy. Mr. Jacob currently contributes to Pace Foundations as a technical advisor, leveraging his expertise to support the company's operations.
Ms. Taenaz Shakir, a partner at Pace Foundations, is currently pursuing her PhD in Human Geography at the University of Fribu, Switzerland. With backgrounds in Urban Planning, Journalism, and Public Policy, she brings a diverse skill set to her role.
Dr. Jimmy Thomas is a consulting engineer specializing in geotechnical engineering, geosynthetics, reinforced soil structures and pavement engineering. He is also a Guest Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Gandhinagar. He received B.Tech in civil engineering from Regional Engineering College Calicut in 1986, M.Tech in geotechnical engineering from College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram in 1989 and PhD in geotechnical engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1998. Dr. Thomas has about 30 years of experience in the industry and about 6 years in academics. He has worked extensively in the field of geosynthetics and reinforced soil structures. He also had short stints with Nirma Institute of Technology Ahmedabad and Albertian Institute of Science and Technology Kochi. Dr. Thomas is a member of many professional societies like Indian Geotechnical Society, International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, International Geosynthetics Society, Indian Roads Congress, Institution of Engineers (India) and Deep Foundations Institute. He has also served in technical committees of Bureau of Indian Standards and Indian Road Congress actively participating in the formulation of codes and standards.
C V Johnson Simon is a B.Tech.(Civil Engineering) from Calicut University and an M.S. (Structural Engineering) framework m University of Surrey, UK. He retains memberships in The Institute of Engineers & Board of Engineers, Malaysia. He has vast experience since since 1985 in leading Civilconstruction organisations in Malaysia and has executed a number of prime projects including housing schemes, condominiums, infrastructures, commercial/ hotel/hospital buildings, expressways, highways, water supply systems etc. Executed/ supervised construction of innumerable multi- storied projects employing piles of foundations.
